A-Z Artists

A handbook for beginners

Here I have made an attempt to draw portraits of artists using their own unique style as a highlight along with a brief personal review on their works. These 26 artists beginning from Auguste Rodin to Zadkine

(A-Z) from around the world have inspired me with their sense of vision, perspective and creativity. Their work and life are so well integrated that a young artist like me in this generation considers it a privilege to emulate them. While making this book, I learnt so much about artists, art movements, style, medium and finally expression. This exercise was so engaging and joyful that it was indeed the best treat that I could offer myself. Hope this visual display may unveil to the viewers newer dimension in the field of art and life in general

"I am very pleased with myself to have accessed Adithyaa’s ‘A-Z Artists’. It contains such delightful word-sketches of 26 artists, one for each alphabet, from all over the world. I did not know a few of them.

The fragrance of this beautiful flower gets you right from the beginning. In his ‘My Words’ (this perhaps hints that he takes full responsibility for what he is saying), Adithyaa says that he has chosen these artists because their vision, perspective and creativity have inspired him. In another sense these three can actually be the most important, useful and practical guiding principles not only for art but for life itself and not only for artists but for all, politicians included. If people and organisations have a vision, if they put that vision in perspective with reference to what is good for others, and if then they innovate and act to achieve that vision, much good can happen to individuals, societies and nations.

The other reason for Adithyaa to choose these artists is that their work and life are well integrated. Only such integration can give great art. Only such integration can lead to a sense of peace, that elusive goal of many a life. Only such integration can ensure integrity which should be the basis of all human endeavour and relationship of the world has to remain a liveable peace. Adithyaa’s piece on the artists are short but delightfully adequate for the beginners. Foreword In a few sentences he outlines some of the most important characteristics of the artists’ works. Some events in the artist’s life, influences on him/her and his/her influences are also mentioned. This is accompanied by an insightful quotation from the artist. Then there is Adithyaa’s portrait of the artists, often in the recognizable style of the artists himself/herself. He has also given his representation of one of the well-known creation of the artist. All this in just two pages, so neatly arranged.

I am amazed at the extraordinary sensibilities and remarkable maturity of this youngster. He is already producing things like this book which are bound to inspire other young art enthusiasts. This short book with a few words has told me so much about art and artists which I suspect, a fat book written by a professional art critic might not have done so simply and easily."
