SEWING MACHINES

Objects and Forms of heritage value has always been my subject of work and since my exposition to Heritage forms, artifacts, structures and objects after my visit to Hasta Shilpa Heritage village in Manipal; I have always been intrigued by anything affiliated to Heritage and Antiquity. Similarly one such subject is that of Sewing Machines. In this series I have attempted to document few of the oldest sewing machines around the world. Over a period of time, the form and shape of the sewing machine has developed and has achieved a much more simpler and abstract structure. After several observations and study, I have started to perceive the shape and form of the sewing machine as an abstract form rather than just a technical or mechanical device.
